How to Set Up Comment Notifications

To stay informed about job comments and team communications, you'll want to configure notification settings in two key areas.

Activity Notifications Setup
  1. Go to Settings
  2. Click Communications
  3. Select Activity Notifications (the top option)
  4. Turn on "Enable Notifications" to receive alerts when certain things happen in Roof Chief
Personal Tag Notifications

Scroll to the bottom of Activity Notifications to find:

"You've been tagged in a comment"

  1. Turn this setting on to receive notifications when someone tags you
  2. Choose notification method:
    • Email only
    • Text only
    • Both email and text
  3. Click Save to preserve your settings

When someone tags you in a comment, you'll receive notifications through your chosen method.

Team-Wide Comment Alerts

For broader team notifications, configure automatic alerts:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Click Communications
  3. Select Alerts
  4. Find "Comment Added"

This setting notifies team members whenever any comment is added to a job, not just when they're tagged.

Alert Recipients Options

You can set up alerts for:

Assigned Salesperson - the salesperson on the job gets notified of all comments (recommended)

Specific Person - choose someone (like Steve) who gets alerted for every comment added to any job

Role-Based - select a role like Foreman to receive notifications

Multiple Recipients - combine different notification types as needed

Saving Your Settings

Remember to click Save after configuring any notification settings to ensure they take effect.
