How to Switch Products in an Estimate Quickly
Within an estimate, you can easily switch between different product options using simple on/off switches, allowing you to customize bids for specific customer needs.
How Product Options Work
When you have multiple product choices for the same category (like different shingle types), Roof Chief calculates the quantities needed for each option based on your measurements.
Example: If you have both Timberline HDZ and UHDZ shingles in your estimate:
- Timberline HDZ shows 88 bundles needed
- UHDZ also shows the calculated quantity required
Switching Between Products
To change which product is active in your bid:
- Turn off the current product using its switch
- Turn on the alternative product using its switch
- The estimate updates to reflect the new product choice
The software maintains accurate material calculations for each option, so switching between products gives you the correct quantities automatically.
