How to Use ‘Batch Select’ to Quickly Schedule Multiple Jobs on the Calendar

Here’s an overview of what you can accomplish using Batch Select in the Calendar’s Timeline View.

Batch select allows you to make changes to multiple jobs at once, saving time when you need to update several projects simultaneously.

Accessing Batch Select
  1. Go to the Calendar
  2. Switch to Timeline View (batch select is not available in grid view)
  3. Choose your time frame (week or two weeks)
  4. Turn on Batch Select using the toggle button
Selecting Jobs
  1. Click on each job you want to modify (they'll be highlighted when selected)
  2. The edit button updates to show how many jobs you've selected (like "Edit 2 Jobs")
  3. Click the edit button to see available actions
Available Batch Actions
  • Extend Jobs - add extra days to all selected jobs if they need more time
  • Reduce Jobs - shorten the duration by a specified number of days
  • Shift Right - move jobs later in the schedule (useful for rain delays)
  • Shift Left - move jobs earlier in the schedule (when other work cancels and crews become available)
  • Move to Date - relocate all jobs to a specific date (helpful when entire weeks are affected by weather)
  • Assign Foreman - quickly assign the same foreman to multiple jobs
  • Assign Crew - assign the same crew to multiple selected projects
Common Use Cases
  • Weather Delays - shift multiple jobs right when rain affects the schedule
  • Cancelled Projects - shift jobs left when crews become available earlier
  • Extended Weather - move entire week's worth of jobs to the following week
  • Crew Management - quickly assign available foremen or crews to multiple projects
Benefits

Batch select eliminates the need to edit jobs individually, making it fast and efficient to update your production calendar when circumstances change. Whether dealing with weather, crew availability, or project requirements, you can adjust multiple jobs with just a few clicks.
