# How to Upload an Outside Measurement Report
## Not every report comes from EagleView or GAF QuickMeasure. Upload a PDF from any other provider, and Exterio reads the measurements out of it and stores them on the project exactly as if you’d ordered through an integration.
### When would I use this?
- You use a measurement provider Exterio doesn’t integrate with directly
- An adjuster or a referral partner sent you a report
- A homeowner provided measurements from a previous bid
- You have an older report on file for the property
### Where do I upload a report?
Open the project, go to the **Measurements** tab, and find the measurement reports area.
You’ll see two options:

| **Order Report** | Order directly from EagleView or GAF QuickMeasure without leaving Exterio, with notification when it returns |
| **Upload** | Upload a PDF measurement report from any other provider |
### Which measurement providers are supported?
These providers are currently validated:
- Hover
- Roofr
- RoofScope
- FirstMate
Reports from other providers can still be uploaded. If you’re using a different provider and seeing mixed results, contact **[help@getexterio.com](mailto:help@getexterio.com)** — we can look at the format.
### How do I upload a PDF report?
1. Click **Upload**.
2. Drop in your PDF measurement report, or select it.
3. Click **Upload and Analyze**.
Exterio reads the report and returns a **confidence score** along with the detected **provider**.
### Can I correct what was read from the PDF?
Yes. Every automatically matched field is editable before you import.
Review the fields, correct any discrepancies, and set:
- The **waste factor** to apply in your estimate template
- The **roof pitch breakdown**, at whatever granularity the report provides
When everything looks right, click **Import**.
The measurements are now stored on the project exactly as an EagleView or GAF QuickMeasure report would be.
### How do I use the measurements in an estimate?
Click the **ruler icon** on the report, then set:
- **Measurement name**
- **Import type**
- **Waste factor**
- **Measurement template** and the **service** you’re offering, which determine the inputs and calculations
Click **Create Measurement**. Everything scraped from the PDF flows into the measurement template, ready for an estimate.
### Tips and gotchas
- **Treat the confidence score as a prompt to check, not a verdict.** A high score means the fields matched cleanly. It doesn’t mean every number is right. The review step exists because a bad squares figure becomes a bad estimate, and nobody catches it until the material order is short.
- **Verify total squares and pitch before importing.** Those two drive almost everything downstream. Spend your review time there rather than reading every field.
- **Fix it in the review step, not after.** Every field is editable before import, and that’s the cheapest moment to correct one. A wrong number carried into the measurement template propagates into the estimate, the proposal, and the material order.
- **Lower confidence usually means an unusual format.** Providers lay reports out differently, and some PDFs are scans rather than text. If the match looks thin, check the fields carefully — or order from an integrated provider instead.
- **Set the waste factor deliberately.** It’s applied at import. A default you didn’t think about carries into the estimate, the material order, and your margin.
- **Use the integrations when you can.** Ordering from EagleView or GAF QuickMeasure gives you structured data, notification when it’s back, and no scraping step. Uploading is the right answer for outside reports — not the shortcut for reports you could have ordered. See *How to Order EagleView Measurement Reports*.
- **Keep the original PDF.** On insurance work especially, the source document matters if anyone questions where the measurements came from.
