# Setup: How To Set Up Your Profile
## Your profile holds your name, photo, phone number and job title in Exterio. Your job title and, if your company requires it, your salesperson registration number can print on the proposals you send, so set them up before your first proposal goes out.
### When would I use this?
- You just accepted your invite and logged in to Exterio for the first time.
- Your phone number or job title changed.
- Your state requires your salesperson registration number on home improvement contracts.
- You want your photo on your account instead of your initials.
### Before you start
- **Every user can edit their own profile.** You don’t need Admin access.
- **The registration number field only shows if your company turned it on.** An Admin turns on **Salesperson Registration** in **Settings** \> **Account Settings** \> **Company Info**. If you don’t see the field, ask your Admin.
- **You can’t change your email address here.** Your email is your login, and the page shows it as **Managed by your authentication provider**.
### How do I open my profile in Exterio?
Go to **Settings** \> **My Settings** \> **Profile**.
### What does each field on my profile do?
| **Field** | **What it does** |
| --- | --- |
| **First Name** and **Last Name** | Your name as it appears in Exterio |
| **Email** | Your login email. It’s locked here. |
| **Phone** | Your phone number. Exterio formats it as you type. |
| **Job Title** | Optional. Shown under your name on counter-signed proposals when the proposal template turns on Signer Job Title. |
| **Salesperson Registration Number** | Shows only if your company turned on Salesperson Registration. It’s printed on the contract section of proposals you solicit or negotiate. Your company may call it something else, like “HIS Registration #.” |
The left side of the page also shows your **Role**, the date you became a member (**Member since**) and your **Last sign in**. You can’t edit these here.
### How do I update my profile in Exterio?
Edit the fields you want to change, then click **Save Changes**.
1. Go to **Settings** \> **My Settings** \> **Profile**.
2. Update your **First Name**, **Last Name**, **Phone** or **Job Title**.
3. If you see a registration number field, enter your number exactly as it appears on your registration.
4. Click **Save Changes**.
**Profile updated successfully** appears when your changes are saved. **Save Changes** stays grayed out until you change something.
### How do I add or change my profile photo?
Click the camera icon on your photo and choose an image. Your photo saves as soon as it uploads, so you don’t need to click **Save Changes**.
Use a JPG, PNG or GIF up to 5MB.
### Tips and gotchas
- **Enter your registration number before your first proposal.** If your company turned on Salesperson Registration and your number is blank, proposals you send go out without it. In states that require it on home improvement contracts, that’s the kind of missing detail that causes trouble after the job is signed.
- **Ask your Admin to change your email.** You can’t edit it on this page because it’s your login. Don’t create a second account to get a new email address. Your contacts, projects and history stay with the account you have.
- **Keep your job title short.** It prints under your name on counter-signed proposals. “Sales Manager” reads well on a contract. A full list of responsibilities doesn’t.
- **Use a clear headshot.** A professional photo looks better than initials anywhere your photo shows up. Skip logos, group shots and vacation pictures.
