# Setup: Project Tabs By Workflow
## Every project has tabs, like Overview, Estimates, Proposals, Photos and Financials. You decide which tabs each track shows, and which ones sit across the top of the project and which ones tuck into the Project Actions menu. That way, a repair job shows only what a repair crew needs, and an insurance job has everything for the claim.
### When would I use this?
- You’ve set up a new track and want its projects to show the right tabs.
- Your repair jobs don’t need Proposals or Change Orders, and your team keeps clicking past them.
- Your team uses Photos and Estimates on every job and wants them up front.
- You don’t use a feature, like Work Orders or Inspections, and want it out of the way.
### Before you start
- **Only users with Feature Settings access can change project tabs.** By default, that’s Admins and Managers.
- **Tabs are set for each track.** Set up your tracks first. See “Setup: Project Work Tracks.”
- **Changes affect everyone.** Every user sees the same tabs on projects in that track.
### How do I open Project Tabs in Exterio?
Go to **Settings** \> **Feature Settings** \> **Projects** \> **Tabs**.

### How do I choose the track I’m setting up?
Pick the track from **Select Track** at the top of the page. The list below shows the tabs for that track only.
Repeat for each of your tracks.
### What’s the difference between primary and secondary tabs?
| **Visibility** | **Where it shows on a project** | **Best for** |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Primary** | Across the top of the project, visible by default | Tabs your team uses on almost every job, like Overview, Estimates and Photos |
| **Secondary** | In the **Project Actions** menu | Tabs your team needs now and then, like Change Orders or Documents & Agreements |
To change a tab, pick **Primary** or **Secondary** from its **Visibility** dropdown.
### How do I turn a tab off for a track?
Turn off the switch in the **Enabled** column.
A turned-off tab doesn’t appear on projects in that track at all. Turn the switch back on any time to bring it back.
### How do I change the order of tabs?
Drag a tab by its handle on the left to a new spot. Tabs show on projects in this order, so put the ones your team uses first at the top.
### What tabs are available?

| **Inspections** | Property inspection reports and AI capture |
| **Estimates** | Cost estimates and breakdowns |
| **Documents & Agreements** | Reusable PDF documents with e-sign, for contracts and authorizations |
| **Proposals** | Proposals and contracts |
| **Field Report** | Field crew reports and submissions |
| **Materials** | Materials list and ordering |
| **Financials** | Invoice and payment tracking |
### What might each track look like?

### Tips and gotchas
- **Keep five to seven primary tabs.** Too many tabs across the top and the ones your team needs get lost. Move the rest to secondary.
- **Move tabs to secondary before turning them off.** A secondary tab is still one click away in **Project Actions**. Turn a tab off only when that track never uses it.
- **Set up every track.** Tabs are set track by track. When you create a new track, check its tabs before your team starts using it.
- **Put the money tabs where your team will see them.** If invoices get missed, make **Financials** a primary tab on every track.
