# Setup: Set Your Work Schedule
## Your work schedule tells Exterio which days and hours you work. Exterio uses it to flag appointments booked outside your hours and to decide what happens to calls you miss, so set it before anyone starts scheduling you.
### When would I use this?
- You just logged in to Exterio for the first time.
- Your hours changed, or you started working Saturdays.
- You’re getting booked for appointments outside the hours you actually work.
- You want missed calls after hours to go to voicemail or get an automatic text.
### Before you start
- **Every user sets their own schedule.** You don’t need Admin access.
- **New users start at 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.** If that’s not your schedule, change it.
### How do I open my work schedule in Exterio?
Go to **Settings** \> **My Settings** \> **Work Schedule**. Changes save automatically, and **Saved** appears after each change.
### How do I set my working hours for each day?
Turn on the days you work, then pick a start and end time for each one.
1. Go to **Settings** \> **My Settings** \> **Work Schedule**.
2. Under **Weekly Schedule**, use the switch next to each day to turn it on or off. Days that are off show **Not working**.
3. For each day you work, choose a start time and an end time.
Times are in 30-minute steps from 5:00 AM to 11:30 PM.
### How do I use the Quick Actions?
Click a Quick Action to fill in a common schedule in one click, then adjust any day that’s different.
| **Quick Action** | **What it does** |
| --- | --- |
| **9 AM - 5 PM (All Days)** | Sets every day to 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM |
| **8 AM - 5 PM (All Days)** | Sets every day to 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM |
| **8 AM - 6 PM (All Days)** | Sets every day to 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM |
| **Weekdays Only (M-F)** | Turns on Monday through Friday and turns off Saturday and Sunday. Your hours stay the same. |
The three time presets change the hours on every day but don’t turn days on or off. To set a Monday-through-Friday, 8-to-5 schedule, click **8 AM - 5 PM (All Days)**, then **Weekdays Only (M-F)**.
### How does my work schedule affect scheduling and calls?
Exterio uses your work schedule in two places:
| **Where** | **What happens** |
| --- | --- |
| **Scheduling events** | When someone schedules an event with you on it outside your work hours, Exterio shows **Outside work hours** so they can pick a better time. |
| **Missed calls** | Missed call handling applies during your work hours. Calls outside your work schedule automatically go to voicemail (if you turned it on) or get an automatic text reply (if you turned it on). You set these in **Settings** \> **My Settings** \> **Phone & SMS**. |
### Tips and gotchas
- **Set your schedule on your first day.** Everyone starts at 9 to 5, Monday through Friday. If you start at 7 AM or work Saturdays, the office sees you as unavailable when you’re not, and as available when you’ve gone home.
- **Check the days, not just the hours.** The three time presets don’t turn days on or off. If you work Saturdays, turn Saturday on yourself, and if you don’t, make sure it shows **Not working**.
- **Your schedule decides when callers get voicemail.** Calls outside your work hours go to voicemail or an automatic text. If your hours are wrong, customers calling during your actual workday can end up in voicemail.
- **Update it when your hours change for the season.** If you start earlier in summer or cut back in winter, change your schedule the same day. Office staff rely on it when they book appointments for you.
